Here is where I put down my proverbial pen and shut my big mouth. If it has been the statement “A picture is worth a thousand words”, than a video is worth easilt a million pictures, no Sachbi?

I don’t have to worry about letting out the secret of my resources, obviously “YouTube.com” is the place to find good videos on any subject.

When you want to see DIY hookah videos or tips the only problem is weeding out the bad videos from the good. You would have to type in “hookah,shisha,tobacco, hookah tips,hookah recipies” etc. If you write in the search box either hookah or shisha you shouldget them all.

But I would like to show a few of the videos from my very favourite hookah forum, with almost 1800 members and growing rapidly. Of course THE hookah forum I refer to is

I’ll tell you why I prefer Hookah Domain forum compared to the “Top Selling Brand” of hookah forums. I was a member there, and its well run, policed a bit too tightly and worse, no one’s opinion is respected. The general flow sounds like 25 wine con-es-sewers sitting in one room and showing off their expertise. Hookah Domain is very friendly, respect is a given thing that so far no one has been told to uphold. Its more laid back and generous with beginners feeling free to ask questions and not feeling like a demi-god may stoop to answer if they are lucky. Nuff said,

Special Shisha review

Some people like Nakhla brand shisha from Egypt, some consider it “dry” shisha and not worth the effort to try.

Its true that Nakhla has a low level of glycerin in the shisha mix, but in experimenting a while back, I took some of my favourite flavours and added a bit more glycerin.It normally has around 24%. In adding a teaspon of glycerin to about 25-30 grams to Nakhla I found the taste diminished every time. I guess they have the right mix ratio for their product.

Chocomint,Earl Grey ,cinnamon,tropicana,cardamon, and margurita flavours.

The chocomint is wonderful can’t say enough good about it.

Earl Grey (tea) flavour? Well honestly I love Earl Grey Tea my favourite tea and I drink tea all day, but as a shisha, I found it to taste too much like tea leaves, no way.

I found this cinnamon much better than others I’ve had, like Al-Sultan cinnamon. Nakhla makes it much better.

Tropicana and Margurita are quite exotic and fine to smoke.

Cardammon (hel) Arabic spice for Turkish Coffee was a good idea on their part no one else makes that, but its way too strong a taste. Maybe mixing it with mint, or coffee would be wise.

Dizzy, Headaches?

Did you ever smoke and get a headache or feel nauseous? It has everything with “too much”. There is only 4-5% nicotine in shisha, but if you are smoking bowl after bowl and are seeing double, it means you’ve overdone it.

There is also a case where as soon as you smoke, you have a head or stomach ache.

That’s while its not good to smoke on an empty stomache. Same with someone who is taking medicine. You need to eat some before smoking.

“Boy, I ‘m so hungry, I could eat a horse”

“That’s better.Now I’ll relax with a hookah smoke”

When I say eat something before smoking the hookah, I don’t mean candy, or a drink, but something solid and substantial that will sit nice on the bottom of your stomach.

“But is he Kosher?”

“Depends if the knife has no defects”.

“Warden, is it true that a condemned man gets to eat a last meal of his request? Well I still have a few bodies stashed away in my mother’s freezer”.

“I sure could eat a Big Mac right now”

“Waiter, Iordered chummus with pita bread!”

“Shisha Juice” flavour enhancers!!!

First, you can add a few drops to the water, as I just did, using mint shisha juice.It really is quite strong and gives a wonderful taste to the smoke!

Secondly, you may add the juice to your shisha, a few drops to ten grams, mix and wait 3-5 days, I have a few more days to go, I’ll wait the full five days and give a new report, having mixed lemon jucie to lemon shisha, mint to mint and double-apple to double-apple.

You have an air valve on your hookah? Of course. Upon opening it up you will see the ball bearing in the small cup. Keep in mind that the ball bearing you have might be too small for the valve, too big, smooth or roughly hewn.If it is not smooth, you’ll be getting soot quickly attaching and it blocks the valve. Clean it off but better to buy some smooth balls of the correct size. The main reason for the valve is that as you inhale on the hose, the ball bearing is sucked down and closes thepotential leak. When you have too much smoke their, it releases it.

What happens if you feel the smoke getting temporarily too harsh or strong to inhale? could be you are using too much coal-heat. Try using less coal. Take some off. You should use the air valve to blow off extra heat and smoke. I do this quite often, especially when I am smoking, writing the blog and resting the hose. The smoke is there in the bowl quickly getting stale. Blow lightly into the hose to get the stale smoke out, to cool off your smoke also.“Whata?”

I have just the idea for you if you are going camping or to the beach. That you will bring your hookah along is a given.

But messing with packing shisha, having it get hot and drip or the clay bowl break is a B.

There is a nice invention called “Mabruk” (Welcome).

Its a ready made shisha bowl with the foil, holes and shisha already there. The ammount of shisha is around 22 grams and smokes easily for an hour. 2 quick lighting charcoals of great quality are included. There are cherry and double-apple flavours available. The shisha is very “wet” and clean of tobacco stems.

It just makes life less messy and easier camping out when you’ll need to spend your time playing tag with the mosquitos.
