Is your shisha dry?

If you’ve bought a box of shisha that was not well covered and dried out some, or it came from the company like that don’t think to add honey or” molasses “to your shisha “mu’assel” as a way of adding moisture. (I’ve done that a few times). When you smoke it I’tll be hard to draw on and hard to get any smoke frome it. So maybe you’ll think to add a bit more charcoal and the results are cooked honey in your bowl and it smells really offensive and quite un-smokable too.

Do what they do in Germany. They have laws on tobacco imports with more than a certain amount of nictotine¬† and regular 0.5% shisha glycerine- nicotine¬† mixture like what comes from the Middle-East fits over the catagory. So they buy a weaker shisha or¬† often use pipe tobacco and buy glycerine at the pharmacy which is safe to add. No health problems. You’ve got the same thing-around 25% roughly in your shisha if you live outside Germany.

I’ve done it a few times a few years ago making my own pipe tobacco mix and molasses with a tablespoon of glycerine. (The rough figure is up to 25% ).

YOU know what good shisha feels like ,moist but not dripping so much that it will go down the holes of the clay bowl and into the metal shaft of the hookah. Nakhla is a dry shisha so don’t try comparing your mix to that.

Most often we’ll never get into a situation like that unless you¬† make home-made shisha but at least its good to know.

Shisha brand “Abed El-Khader

Have you ever tried this tobacco brand? Smoking-Hookah.com¬† purchases this themselves straight from His Majesty’s Kingdom of Jordan where they get also their fresh Al-Waha, Saet Safa and Al-Ouns. These are all great tobaccos. Al-Waha is thought by some as equivalent to¬† Nakhla. I would too since I’ve purchased it locally and online from a few places and it wasn’t fresh. No date in english either.

Smoking-Hookah.com buys fresh and ships quickly. Try their Al-Waha and its like smoking a totally different brand than what you’ve ever bought!

Abed El-Khader¬† is a stronger shisha with a premium taste. They have peach, lemon, licorice ,red¬† apple, orange, chewing gum flavour (candy taste),mint, strawberry, melon, cherry, cherry banana, and bubble gum. I’ve had 8 flavours and have yet to smoke the bubble gum, melon, and licorice . I will try them if I can get and post on about them.

The flavour of Abed El-Khader¬† is realistic. The best peach I’ve had .

Try them .

Quick cleaning tip

Its so important to clean your hookah after every use. It’ll work and smoke better, taste better but WHEN you clean it is also important. Don’t be lazy and try to clean it right before your next smoking session. That’s like leaving dirty dishes out. The gunk dries and its so hard to clean . When you’re finished keep in mind that you want to enjoy the next smoke so clean it as soon as you’re finished.

Filling up your water bowl

When I smoke I try to fill up the water level high so that the water will cool well the smoke.

Maybe its not such a good idea. On many bowls you’ll see the gold rings which are really good indicators of how much water you are filling.

Want a good indicator of your own? If when smoking and you smoke a toke on your hose and you are getting a bit of water in the hose-well thats way to much. Sometimes you’ll fell like a gurgling feeling when you pull on your hose, thats also about too much water.

The type of  hose thickness and its width plays a part since each hose pulls differently.

I’ve purchased a few hookahs and each one has a different pull on it, so again its a matter of experimenting with what you have.
